Winter Jurassic Classic

The Somervell County Expo hosted the Jurassic Classic Barrel Race, February 21-24, 2002. It was the largest Race the Somervell County Expo has hosted. A purse of $44,470 of which $2500 was added money, 25 Buckles, 4 Saddles, and over $2000 in Prizes were given away. Attracted a total of over 1728 Entries.
Friday Lorissa Lide won first in the 1D with a 15.041, and Saturday Amanda Rutledge won the 1D with a 14.719. Amanda also won the Average for both days and received a saddle for her 14.908 average, the 2D Saddle winner was Lisa Ogden with a 15.410, the 3D Saddle winner was Jackie Frank with a 15.910, and the 4D Saddle winner was Julian Daryla with a 16.908. Sunday Megan Williams won the youth with a 15.112. Stick Horse Race on Saturday Winners were; Age 2-4, First Place Banner Sullivan 5.50, 2nd Katie Keith 5.68. Age 5-7, First Place Jeff Stark 12.202 and 2nd Stetson Sullivan 12.203. For more resuls go to ebarrelracing.com.
