The Promise celebrates 22 years performing at the Texas Amphitheatre in Glen Rose!
Come See The Promise under the beautiful autumn evening stars at The Texas Amphitheatre in Glen Rose, Texas.
The Promise begins on the banks of the Paluxy River in historic Glen Rose, Texas. A grandfather and his grandchildren, Billy and Lisa, explore the dry riverbed in search of the dinosaur tracks that have made Somervell County a popular destination for visitors. As they settle by a campfire, Grandfather is reminded of a story that his own grandfather used to tell him -- a story about the Promise -- a story about the One sent by God so many years ago.
As Grandfather begins to sing about this Promised One, they find themselves among the prophets of The Old Testament foretelling the Life of Christ. As grandpa continues, they are later present at the birthplace of Jesus, in the midst of shepherds and kings.
Straight out of the pages of scripture, the narrators and audience witness the birth, life, death, resurrection and triumphant ascension of Jesus Christ. Utilizing an award-winning musical score, live animals, and a cast and crew of over 100 dedicated Christians, The Promise is sure to be one of the most memorable experiences of a lifetime.
The Promise is performed in the largest permanent outdoor stage in the state. The Texas Amphitheatre is an impressive 3,252 seat venue designed for The Promise to create a perfect atmosphere for this remarkable production. In addition, it is a host to many features exclusive to outdoor theaters throughout the nation. When implemented, it gives you an experience unlike any other.
The story of the Life of Christ is timeless. The performance season, however, is not. This season, The Promise will be celebrating 22 years at The Texas Amphitheatre in Glen Rose, TX with Friday and Saturday evening performances from September 3rd through October 30th.
